Wordpress for iPhone Review

23. July 2008 Kategorie Apple, blogging, iPhone | 0 Kommentare »

Well, obviously the application is available, so this is basically just a test to see how the iPhone works with wordpress.

It’s working pretty well, but it is 1:30 in the morning.

I just checked it out. It allows for uploading of photos from your saved photos on your phone or you can take a new picture as you right.

So let’s give it a test shall we?

FAIL.
The picture appears at the bottom of the post not where you attempt to place it. But I guess if you have a lock tight memory and HTML skills you can just post the code after you upload the picture to a photo site.

Hopefully that will be fixed. But it is not a huge deal.

All in all, this application is one of the first useful and intuitive applications in the app store.

Go word press!!

My Day is Made!

According to Arn over at macrumors.com iPhone will be getting a WordPress application soon.

This will seriously allow me to update this page in a convenient fashion wherever I am.

For example, if I am in a movie theater, and I want to write a review of the movie, I can do it right there, or if a surprise trailer comes on, I can give you the news of it.

Or, I may in fact go to a presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain at Belmont in the fall, and cover the action from where it happens. No more waiting!

And all of you in internets land that blog will also be able to do the same thing, and might I say, it is about damn time!

Gaming in the Summer of 2008 (Part 1)-Super Monkey Ball

15. July 2008 Kategorie Apple, Gaming, Sega, iPhone | 0 Kommentare »

Well, it’s a DAMN good year to be a gamer, I would say!

In the time of the E3 convention in Los Angeles (and myself not getting invited), I would like to take a turn and first discuss the gaming on the iPhone, and how super sweet and fantastic it is!

First, Monkey Ball. For $9.99 on a hand held/cell phone device, this is an amazing game. It’s not hugely addictive, but that is okay, it acts as a casual game and that is what it should be. Can you imagine an addictive game with that little of a battery life, that would be crazy!!

But it does its job, if you are on a break and you walk outside, walk around the halls, this game is perfect! Apple and Sega scored with this game and it is wonderful. The motion sensor controls are very difficult to catch on to, but after playing with it for a couple of days, the game gets much easier, but there is a downfall. I have not yet found a way to save progress. On the way home (we carpool) I was playing Super Monkey Ball, got a call from my wife and the game restarted, I was royally pissed. But overall, graphically +, gameplay +, addictiveness -(but it is excusable), convenience +/- due to the fact that it is a convenient game, but it doesn’t save progress in a sensible way.

Here are some screen shots:
