Wow, where do I start with The Dark Knight?

Maybe I should start with the fact that I am a huge movie fan, comic fan, nerd, and Batman fan, so in some aspects this movie would have made me happy, in other aspects I would be very critical of some story choices.

That being said, in no way am I disappointed with The Dark Knight(now known as TDK). All of the actors give nothing but a stellar performance, and in my eyes no one but Christian Bale can be an effective Batman/Bruce Wayne ever again, Aaron Eckhart plays the perfect duality/fair character of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Maggie Gyllenhaal takes the part of Rachel and makes it her own making Katie Holmes a thought of the past, and the rest of the supporting actors even shine and make them stand out in this film.

And just like everyone else has stated, Heath Ledger steals the show. The way he plays the Joker as an anarchist, chaos driven, evil mad man is the absolute best version of the Joker that has been conceived. The best thing about his performance is that, at no point can you tell that Heath Ledger is the actor, he absolutely makes you believe that there is no acting, there is only this maniac in clown paint, and the humor that Heath Ledger conveys at the same time while seeming completely insane is priceless, and I found myself laughing throughout the entire film.

All acting aside, the story itself takes the comic book source material and takes it completely serious. Most every detail is accurate in respect to its source and the way they did this film, makes it completely believable and realistic, something that you hardly see in comic book films.

This movie has received Oscar hype by fans, and has gained great reviews from critics and fans alike, so if you are not sure about seeing this film, do so, tonight.

I will be seeing again next Saturday in Murfreesboro, TN, if anyone wants to join me.

Also, a side note, if you are somehow confused by the gap between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, pick up a copy of the animated feature of six mini-episodes entitled Batman: Gotham Knight, it bridges the gap successfully and leaves nothing out.

Also, if you get the chance to see it in the IMAX, do so, the feeling of gliding through the air in between buildings is something that everyone in their life deserves.

Also, I want to say that this is now one of my favorite movies of all time, as well as the BEST comic book movie ever made, and that is not opinion, that my friends, is fact.

Let’s put a smile on that face!-Heath Ledger as The Joker
